Stop 46 of the 52 Week Tour of La Grange Restaurants and Food Establishments at Olivaceto

Olivaceto was Stop 46 on our 52 week tour of La Grange restaurants and food establishments.

This week, the group was made up of veterans of the restaurant tour, as we were joined by Phil Fulton, Joe Kroc, Jim Walls, Bill Carney, owner Josie Pina Rivas, Karen Lynch, Sarah Parkes, Lori Donahoe and Mike Zaura.

Olivaceto was one of our best experiences yet. Who would have known that olive oil and balsamic would be not only tasty but interesting. I learned more about olive oil in an hour than I have during my lifetime.

Josie was an absolute wonderful host that served us the most delicious pairings of olive oil, balsamic, hummus, vegetables, sandwiches, homemade quesadillas, and various balsamic infused drinks.

Josie is also very conscious of partnering with other local businesses. Our dessert was ice cream brought in by Tates Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop in LaGrange which was accentuated with a drizzle of espresso balsamic and of course more olive oil.

You should definitely book one of these events. I felt like I was in Europe for the afternoon.

If you have not visited Olivaceto for your olive oil, balsamic and tea needs, you are missing out on a quality experience and great pure products. You can also sample the products before you buy them so you make sure you are getting a bottle which matches your palate.

The next time you need olive oil, give Olivaceto a try.

Next week, we’re doing yet another after hours gathering. We’ll be at Al’s Char-House at 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday, March 18th. Hope to see you there!
