He has nearly two decades of diverse professional experience as a lawyer in the public and private sectors and as a policy advisor to members of leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives. Justin has built his distinct career around a commitment to hard work, excellence, and integrity, and has earned the respect of his peers and the trust of his clients.
Justin has deep litigation and advocacy experience. As a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney, Justin successfully defended Cook County offices, elected officials, police officers, prosecutors, and health care workers in a multitude of complex litigation matters in state and federal court. In the private sector, Justin has successfully represented the interests of national, middle-market, and family-owned businesses and individuals in jurisdictions across the country. Justin has experience with many commercial matters, including shareholder rights claims, contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty actions, warranty and fraud claims, commercial foreclosures, employee disputes, commercial and residential real estate disputes, construction, product liability, and tort actions.
Justin also has a track record of resolving complicated disputes through listening and creative problem solving. Many times, costly and stressful litigation is the result of communication breakdowns between parties. Justin excels at listening to both sides of a situation and helping parties build a bridge to resolution – often before a lawsuit is filed. Parties who have resolved matters with Justin’s assistance have frequently commented that they did not believe compromise was possible before Justin was involved.
Justin understands the importance of having counsel you can trust. In matters big and small, Justin provides his clients with honest and clear-eyed counsel. From a national business looking to manage risk, a family-owned business with an employment dispute, to a homeowner unsure of whether they should sign an expensive construction contract, Justin has helped many clients think through stressful decisions. Justin graduated from Marquette University in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Theology. He graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2012. While in law school, Justin earned top honors for his course work in Chicago-Kent’s nationally recognized intensive trial advocacy and legal writing programs, and in the intensive strategic problem solving program. He is currently completing coursework in mergers and acquisitions through Columbia University.
Justin is an active member of the La Grange community, serving on the Village’s Economic Development Commission and as a coach in La Grange Little League. He is a proud native of Chicago’s southwest suburbs, and is always up for a conversation about its many neighborhoods. He lives in La Grange with his family, and loves being a dad.
