Embracing Innovation and Sustainability: Fornaro Law’s Leap into Renewable Energy
At Fornaro Law, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation. Our commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies and exploring new frontiers sets us apart in the legal field. We are excited to announce our latest venture into renewable energy—installing solar panels at our firm.
Going Solar: A Step Towards a Sustainable Future
We’ve always believed in leading by example, and our latest initiative underscores this philosophy. Transitioning to solar energy was a no-brainer for us. It aligns with our values of innovation, sustainability, and community responsibility. Our new solar panels represent more than just a commitment to renewable energy—they symbolize our dedication to forward-thinking practices that benefit both our clients and the environment.
Why Solar Energy?
The benefits and data regarding solar energy helped us see why this change was needed at our firm.
- Environmental Impact: By employing solar energy, we’re reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a cleaner, greener planet. Solar energy systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 3,000 pounds of CO2 per year for every kilowatt (kW) of solar power installed, contributing to a cleaner, greener planet.
- Cost Savings: Solar panels can significantly reduce electricity bills, allowing us to allocate resources more effectively and potentially pass those savings on to our clients. According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the average solar panel system can save small business owners between $20,000 and $30,000 over the lifetime of the system. In addition, one can guard against future cost increases with fixed net metering through ComEd.
- Low Maintenance: Solar panels require minimal maintenance, providing a reliable energy solution. Most solar panel systems come with a 25-30 year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability.
- Energy Independence: Generating our own energy reduces reliance on traditional power sources. In 2023, solar energy accounted for 45% of all new electric capacity added in the U.S., showing the growing trend towards energy independence.
- Tax Benefits: Installing solar panels can provide significant tax benefits through incentives like tax credits, rebates, and grants. For instance, the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows businesses to deduct 26% of the cost of installing a solar energy system from their federal taxes.
